Dr Rachele Allena has been a post doctoral fellow at the Center for Genomic Regulation of Barcelona from October 2010 until September 2011. She obtained an INTERPOD-Marie Curie fellowship and she worked with James Sharpe (Systems Analysis of Development Laboratory) and Hernan Lopez-Schier (Sensory Cell Biology and Organogenesis Laboratory).


From October 2009 until September 2010, she got a CNRS Post doctoral fellowship at the MSSMat Laboratory at the Ecole Centrale Paris.


Before that, from August 2005 until June 2006, she has been working as a Research Engineer at the Cell and Tissue Engineering Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Chicago under the supervision of Sue McCormick.

PhD

Dr Rachele Allena obtained her PhD in Biomechanical Engineering at the MSSMat Laboratory at the Ecole Centrale Paris, under the supervision of Denis Aubry and in collaboration with Emmanuel Farge of the Institut Curie Paris.

She defended her thesis on September, 16th 2009 with the final mention Très honorable. The thesis committee was composed by:

Dr Rachele Allena obtained her Master Degree in Mechanical engineering at the Politecnico di Torino (Italy) on May 19th, 2005 with the final notation of 100/110. She developed a final project entitled Whiplash effects on cervical vertebrae at the Biomechanics Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Chicago, under the supervision of Farid Amirouche (University of Illinois at Chicago) and Graziano Curti (Politecnico di Torino).

She has also spent the last year of her degree at the Institut Polytechnique de Grenoble.
